Terre Haute, IN – Deputies in Vigo County arrested a 45-year-old man Thursday night after a woman reported being battered and robbed at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 8:41 p.m. on October 1, 2025, after the woman reported that she had been attacked and had items stolen from her. Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspect as Bobby Brown of Terre Haute.
Deputies located Brown a short time later at Gaslight Estates on Springhill Road. After interviewing him and reviewing evidence, investigators took him into custody and transported him to the Vigo County Jail.
Brown has been charged with robbery, aggravated battery, obstruction of justice, interfering with the reporting of a crime, and criminal mischief, according to Chief Deputy Steve Meng.
Authorities have not released further details about the victim’s injuries or the stolen property. The case remains under investigation.
