Vigo County, IN – Deputies responded Tuesday afternoon to a crash near St. Rd. 46 and Lama Rd. involving vehicles stopped behind a school bus, according to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 2:57 p.m. on November 4, 2025, when a Vigo County School Corporation bus was dropping off students with its stop arm extended. A passing Acura reportedly failed to notice the stopped bus and rear-ended a Nissan that was waiting behind it.

According to Chief Deputy Steve Meng, the school bus was not struck and no children were injured. A front-seat passenger in the Nissan suffered a minor head injury, and both drivers were treated and released at the scene.

Deputies said the crash temporarily slowed traffic in the area as first responders cleared the roadway and ensured students could safely reach their homes.

Residents traveling through the St. Rd. 46 corridor were advised to remain alert during afternoon bus drop-off times.
