Video game sale goes bad in Bourbonnais

BOURBONNAIS – A victim is recovering after a video game sale in Bourbonnais went bad.

According to Bourbonnais Police, it happened Monday around 6:15 pm in the parking lot behind Culvers in Bourbonnais when the arranged online sale went wrong. After showing the system was working, the victim reported the buyer took out a handgun and took off with the machine.

The investigation into the incident remains open.

In 2019, the Kankakee Police Department created a dedicated safety spot for online exchanges under video surveillance for such purposes to reduce such risks that are open 24-hours a day. In 2020, the Village of Bradley also created an “Internet Purchase Safe Exchange Zone” at the Bradley Police Department.
