Very Cold Weather Expected Across Kentucky Through Tuesday

Louisville, Kentucky — Mainly dry but very cold weather is expected across central Kentucky through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Louisville.

Forecasters report that wind chills will remain in the single digits to teens for multiple hours each day through early this week. A graphic issued at 5:59 a.m. EST on Sunday, January 18, shows minimum wind chill values dipping into the single digits across much of the region, including Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, and surrounding communities.

Daily high temperatures are expected to remain cold, with highs ranging from the upper 20s to lower 30s today, near 20 to upper 20s on Monday, and upper 20s to mid-30s on Tuesday. The coldest period is expected Monday morning, when low temperatures and wind chills reach their lowest levels.

Looking ahead, the National Weather Service notes that a mix of rain and snow is possible Wednesday and Wednesday night, with temperatures moderating into the 40s.
