Montpelier, VT – Snow is expected to blanket much of Vermont starting this afternoon, creating hazardous travel conditions into Friday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, the Winter Weather Advisory will remain in effect from 1 p.m. today to 1 a.m. Friday. Between 3 and 8 inches of snow are expected across northern and central Vermont, with higher totals in localized areas. Gusty winds up to 40 mph could lead to blowing and drifting snow.
Motorists should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility during both evening commutes today and Thursday. Drive cautiously and consider delaying unnecessary travel.
Looking ahead, snow will taper off Friday morning, but temperatures will remain cold, with highs in the low 30s. Weekend weather appears calmer, though a light dusting is possible Saturday.
