BURLINGTON, Vt. – A stretch of dry, comfortable weather will carry Vermont into Friday before a shift brings showers into the region Saturday night. Skies will remain clear overnight with lows dipping into the upper 40s across Chittenden County.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, Friday will bring sunshine and highs near 71 degrees, followed by partly cloudy skies Friday night with temperatures settling around 56. Winds will stay light, shifting southerly into Saturday as moisture builds.

By Saturday evening, Burlington and surrounding towns could see scattered showers, with rain chances peaking overnight. Rainfall amounts are expected to stay light, under a tenth of an inch. Roads should remain passable, though drivers heading out late Saturday should watch for slick conditions.

Sunday looks drier, with highs near 74 and mostly sunny skies returning for northern Vermont. Early next week continues the trend of fair weather, offering residents several mild days for outdoor plans and late-summer activities.
