Burlington, VT – Residents in the Champlain Valley should brace for a chilly weekend and the potential for snow showers early next week. While Saturday will bring sunny skies and bitter cold, temperatures will rise slightly by Sunday, with snow likely by Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service, isolated snow showers are expected Friday morning but will clear as the day progresses. Highs will only reach 21°F, with lows dipping to 5°F overnight into Saturday. Sunny skies are forecast for Saturday, but residents should prepare for frigid conditions, as temperatures will struggle to reach 22°F.

Looking ahead, a 40% chance of snow showers is expected Sunday, with a high near 34°F. Monday brings mostly cloudy skies and breezy conditions, with snow becoming more likely in the evening. Accumulation could impact Monday night travel across the region.

Drivers should exercise caution on local roadways, including I-89, as snow showers and breezy conditions may reduce visibility. Winds on Monday will range from 14-21 mph, creating additional hazards.

Temperatures will remain below average through Tuesday, with another round of snow showers likely. Highs will hover around 31°F as winter conditions persist in the Champlain Valley.

Stay updated by checking forecasts regularly and preparing for slick roads early next week.
