Burlington, Vermont – Cloudy skies will keep Vermont cool this morning, but sunshine is expected to break through by midday, with high temperatures ranging from the upper 70s in the north to the upper 80s in the south. An uptick in humidity is likely, especially in southern areas, where dewpoints will reach the 60s. Drivers and outdoor workers should watch for isolated showers or thunderstorms, especially across southern Vermont later this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, conditions will remain comfortable across much of the state, but localized downpours and brief gusty winds are possible in Rutland, Brattleboro, and Bennington by late afternoon. No widespread severe weather is expected, but isolated storms may cause slick roads and reduced visibility. Temperatures in Montpelier and St. Albans will top out near 80°F, while Brattleboro and Springfield may approach the upper 80s.

If you plan to be outside, be ready for changing skies. Carry water, check for updates, and move indoors if you hear thunder. The National Weather Service recommends monitoring alerts and using caution if storms develop.

Cooler, drier air returns tonight, with more sunshine and mild weather forecast for Wednesday. Additional advisories are possible if storms intensify.
