Burlington, Vt. – After a muggy stretch earlier this week, residents across Vermont are waking up to refreshing change Friday, with highs in the 70s and much lower humidity levels expected statewide.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, any lingering clouds from overnight will clear by mid-morning, giving way to mostly sunny skies across northern and central Vermont. Afternoon temperatures will peak between 75°F and 79°F in cities like Montpelier, Middlebury, and Barre.

The drier air mass will be especially noticeable in the Champlain Valley, where Burlington and Plattsburgh are forecast to hit 78°F under mostly sunny skies. Brattleboro and Bennington could see slightly warmer readings near 80°F, but still with a much more comfortable feel compared to earlier in the week.

Drivers can expect excellent visibility on I-89 and Route 7, and with reduced humidity, it’s a good day for outdoor plans, lawn work, or travel across the Green Mountain State. No rainfall is expected today, and air quality remains in the “good” range.

This pleasant weather pattern will continue into the weekend, with only a slight chance of showers returning by Sunday evening.
