Burlington, VT – Temperatures are rebounding across Vermont, climbing back toward seasonal norms just in time for the weekend, though unsettled conditions could bring mixed precipitation.
According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, highs Thursday will reach into the low 40s across much of the state, including Burlington, Montpelier, and Rutland, marking a shift away from recent colder conditions. The warming trend continues Friday and Saturday, with many areas pushing into the mid to upper 40s.
By Saturday and Sunday, parts of the Champlain Valley and central Vermont could approach 48 to 49 degrees, while cooler spots in the Northeast Kingdom remain slightly below that mark. Locations like Springfield may even reach the low 50s by Sunday afternoon.
Despite the warming trend, periods of rain and snow showers are expected, especially Friday into the weekend. Higher elevations, including areas near Stowe and the Green Mountains, could see more snow mixing in at times, while valleys lean toward rain.
Drivers should be alert for changing road conditions, particularly during early morning hours when temperatures hover near freezing. The unsettled pattern will continue into the weekend, with additional updates likely as conditions evolve.
