Burlington, Vt. – Drivers across northern Vermont could face slick roads Wednesday morning as showers move into the Burlington area, breaking a stretch of clear skies that started the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, showers are likely after 8 a.m. Wednesday with a 60 percent chance of rain and highs near 70 degrees. Rain chances will continue into Wednesday night before tapering off early Thursday. Most areas can expect light rainfall totals, but wet roads could still slow morning and evening commutes along I-89, Route 2, and other key corridors.

Tonight will bring increasing clouds, with lows near 50 degrees and light north winds. Tuesday stays partly sunny and warmer, topping out near 78, before showers return overnight.

Rain chances return Sunday with scattered showers possible. Additional advisories could be issued if rainfall timing or intensity changes.
