Burlington, VT – Residents across northern Vermont can expect a picture-perfect fall Friday with warm daytime highs and a crisp, cool night to follow.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, afternoon temperatures on Friday, October 3, will climb into the low 70s in much of the Champlain Valley, with highs ranging from the upper 60s to mid-70s across the region. Sunshine and calm conditions are expected to dominate the day.

By nightfall, however, conditions will turn chilly under clear skies. Forecast models show overnight lows dipping into the mid-30s to low 40s, with colder pockets likely in the Adirondacks and Northeast Kingdom. Areas around Stowe, Montpelier, and Rutland may see lows in the mid-30s, while Burlington will likely bottom out around 44 degrees.

The pleasant stretch of early October weather offers ideal conditions for foliage viewing, outdoor recreation, and travel across Vermont. No precipitation or major weather hazards are in the forecast.

The National Weather Service notes that residents should be prepared for the sharp temperature swing between day and night, especially in rural areas where frost pockets are possible.
