Burlington, Vt. – Northern Vermont heads into a bright and dry weekend before rain chances return early next week. Sunshine dominates through Sunday, with highs reaching the mid-70s and cool, comfortable nights dropping into the low 40s.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, skies will clear by Friday afternoon, giving way to sunny conditions on Saturday. Winds remain light out of the north and southeast, keeping humidity low and air crisp. By Sunday, temperatures climb to 73 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

The calm stretch ends Monday night when showers begin to develop across Chittenden County and much of northern Vermont. Rain chances increase into Tuesday, when scattered showers may bring slick roads for commuters along I-89 and Route 7. Winds will shift from the south around 9 mph, pulling in moisture.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the mild and dry conditions this weekend but prepare for wet travel early next week. Keep umbrellas and rain gear ready as showers may persist through Tuesday evening. Additional advisories could be issued if rainfall increases.
