Burlington, VT – Snowfall totals are now in from across Vermont and the North Country, showing generally light accumulation for most areas, with higher amounts focused in central Vermont.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, snowfall reported through around 10 a.m. Sunday indicates that most of the region measured 3 inches or less, excluding lake-effect snow south of Watertown, New York. A notable swath of heavier, fluffier snow fell in an arc from southwestern Vermont into southern Caledonia County, where the highest totals were observed across central Vermont.

Storm total snowfall estimates show many northern and eastern communities picking up 1 to 3 inches, while portions of central Vermont reported locally higher totals, especially in elevated terrain. Western areas closer to Lake Champlain generally saw lighter accumulation.

Forecasters say Arctic air will continue pressing into the region, allowing additional snow showers to develop, though snowfall is expected to become more localized through the rest of Sunday and into Monday. Brief bursts of snow could still create slick travel conditions, particularly in higher elevations and during early morning and overnight hours.

Roads may remain snow-covered or icy in spots, especially on secondary routes and mountain passes. Drivers are urged to use caution as temperatures remain cold enough for snowpack to linger.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updated local forecasts, as narrow snow bands can shift quickly and produce sudden reductions in visibility.
