Montpelier, VT – Vermont State Police are once again asking for the public’s help in solving the decades-old disappearance of a Washington County woman last seen more than 30 years ago.

According to Vermont State Police, 41-year-old Audrey Groat was last seen on Aug. 21, 1993, after a day of shopping with a friend in Burlington. She was reportedly dropped off at her vehicle at the park-and-ride near Exit 8 in Montpelier. Investigators said her car was later found in the same location, and her purse was discovered in nearby bushes.

Authorities said numerous searches have been conducted in the years since, including in areas where Groat had allegedly been sighted, but no new evidence has been uncovered. Groat remains listed as a missing person.

Police are urging anyone with information about Groat’s disappearance to contact the Berlin barracks at 802-229-9191.

This renewed appeal is part of Vermont State Police’s ongoing efforts to highlight unsolved cases across the state in hopes of generating new leads.
