Vermont Cold Case Revisited: Police Seek Tips in 1993 Homicide of Angela Blouin

Derby, VT – The Vermont State Police are once again seeking the public’s help in solving the 1993 homicide of 21-year-old Angela Blouin, whose remains were discovered on the side of Crawford Road in Derby.

According to a statement posted Friday by the Vermont State Police, Blouin’s body was found on May 30, 1993. Authorities at the time concluded that evidence at the scene pointed to a struggle, and her death was determined to be a homicide. The case has remained unsolved for more than three decades.

State police have not disclosed what prompted the renewed focus on the case but emphasized that they are encouraging anyone with knowledge about Blouin’s death—or any other unsolved homicide in Vermont—to contact the Major Crime Unit.

Blouin’s death is one of several longstanding cases that investigators continue to review in hopes of identifying new leads. The police did not provide details on whether recent technological advancements in forensic science or new witness statements have triggered a fresh inquiry.

The Vermont State Police reiterated their commitment to bringing resolution to the Blouin family and others affected by unresolved violent crimes in the state.
