Burlington, VT – A powerful winter storm will bring heavy snow, ice, and dangerous wind chills to Vermont on Monday, making travel hazardous.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Monday, with 6 to 14 inches of snow expected. Icy conditions could create treacherous roads, especially along I-89 and Route 2. Strong winds may cause blowing snow and power outages, particularly in the Green Mountains.

By Tuesday, temperatures will plummet into the single digits, with wind chills as low as -6°F. The arctic blast will linger through midweek, keeping conditions frigid. Snow tapers off Monday night, but blustery winds will make outdoor exposure risky.

Five-Day Forecast:

Monday: Snow and wind, high 17°F.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, high 14°F, gusty winds.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, high 18°F.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, high 22°F.

Friday: Partly sunny, high 24°F.

Drivers should avoid unnecessary travel and check road conditions before heading out. Stay updated on alerts from the National Weather Service and prepare for bitter cold in the coming days.
