South Burlington, VT – Vermont State Police are marking the anniversary of a long-term missing persons case and are once again asking the public for any information that could help locate Michael Dumont, who disappeared on November 21, 2004.

According to investigators, Dumont—who was 50 years old at the time—left his South Burlington residence after receiving a phone call. Family members reported him missing later that same day when he failed to return home. He has not been seen since.

State police did not release additional details about the circumstances surrounding the phone call or where Dumont may have been headed. Detectives say the case remains open, and they continue to review leads as they surface.

Anniversary reminders are routinely issued in long-term missing persons cases as a way to bring renewed attention and generate new information, police said. Even small or previously overlooked details can play a significant role in moving an investigation forward.

Anyone with information—no matter how minor it may seem—is urged to contact either the South Burlington Police Department or the Vermont State Police at 802-878-7111.
