Vermillion County, IN – Drivers in western Indiana should expect construction activity starting today, Monday, September 23, along State Road 63 in Vermillion County.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), crews will be performing shoulder and median work on SR-63 between County Road 310 North and State Road 71 near Cayuga. The project, which is part of a roadway evaluation, will involve lane restrictions in the work zone.
INDOT said the work will begin “on or after today,” and drivers may encounter construction crews throughout the week. Motorists traveling through the area are advised to reduce speed, stay alert, and watch for changing traffic patterns.
The agency did not provide a specific completion date for the evaluation but noted that the work is necessary to ensure long-term road safety and performance. Lane closures may vary depending on weather and daily progress.
Drivers who use SR-63 for commutes or access to surrounding Vermillion County roads should plan for possible delays, particularly near Cayuga.
INDOT reminds motorists that fines are doubled in active construction zones when workers are present.
