HERSCHER, Ill. – A night-time heist unfolded in the peaceful village of Herscher early Saturday, as burglars targeted the local grocery store.
According to Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department reports it began around 2:45 a.m., the Herscher Grocery Store at 150 W Kankakee Ave fell victim to a brazen burglary. Criminals reportedly smashed through the front window of the store before swiping a variety of tobacco and vape items before making their hurried escape on foot.
Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Herscher Police Department, is digging deep into the investigation, appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
