Salt Lake City, UT — Utah and Wyoming residents should prepare for a dangerous heat wave next week, with record-breaking temperatures expected across the region. According to the US National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, high-pressure systems will build along the West Coast, producing a significant warming trend starting early next week.

Forecasts indicate temperatures could exceed 100°F along the Wasatch Front, with the St. George metro area potentially reaching a scorching 110°F. Southwest Wyoming will also experience these extreme conditions, underscoring the need for residents to take necessary precautions.

The detailed forecast for Salt Lake City shows a gradual increase in temperatures over the coming days. Wednesday will see a high of 86°F, followed by 84°F on Thursday. By Friday, temperatures will reach 89°F, and the heat will intensify over the weekend with highs of 95°F on Saturday and 93°F on Sunday.

As the high-pressure system moves eastward, the region will experience sustained high temperatures, potentially breaking historical records. This trend is likely to continue into the following week, with early forecasts suggesting no immediate relief from the heat.
