Salt Lake City, UT – A winter weather advisory is in effect today, with snow and rain impacting travel across the Salt Lake Valley. Commuters and Valentine’s Day travelers should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially in the morning and evening hours.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin late Thursday morning, transitioning to rain by the afternoon. Accumulations of up to 2 inches are expected on valley floors, with 2 to 5 inches in higher elevations, including Draper, South Jordan, and Herriman. Winds of 10 to 14 mph could create additional travel hazards.
Friday will bring steady rain with highs in the mid-40s, followed by another mix of rain and snow Friday night. Saturday and Sunday remain mostly cloudy, with a chance of light snow.
