Salt Lake City, UT – The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has extended a Winter Weather Advisory through noon Monday, October 27, for portions of northern Utah, where heavy mountain snow continues to create difficult travel conditions.

The advisory includes the Wasatch Mountains north of I-80, as well as the Western Uinta Mountains, covering high-elevation areas such as Logan Summit, Mantua, Moon Lake, and the Mirror Lake Highway.

Forecasters expect 4 to 8 inches of snow north and east of I-84, with localized totals up to 12 inches in the Bear River Range. Areas along the Wasatch Range adjacent to I-15 may see 1 to 4 inches, while the Uinta Mountains could receive 3 to 9 inches above 8,500 feet.

According to the NWS, drivers should prepare for snow-covered roads, reduced visibility, and slick conditions along US-89 through Logan Canyon and State Route 39 east of Ogden. Motorists are urged to slow down, allow extra time, and check updated road reports via udottraffic.utah.gov before traveling.

Snow is expected to taper off by early afternoon Monday as colder air settles across the region.
