Salt Lake City, UT – A major winter storm is hitting northern Utah, bringing heavy snowfall and dangerous travel conditions through Monday night. The Wasatch and Uinta mountain ranges are expected to receive between 1 and 5 feet of snow, significantly impacting travel along I-80 and US-89.
According to the National Weather Service, the Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. Monday for areas north of I-80, including Logan Summit and Mantua. Further south, including the Cottonwood Canyons and the Uinta Mountains, the warning remains active until 5 p.m. Monday.
Blowing and falling snow will reduce visibility, particularly near Logan Summit on US-89. Traction law restrictions may be enacted as roads become increasingly hazardous. The snowfall is expected to become heavier and denser as snow levels rise to 7,000-8,500 feet by Sunday afternoon.
Officials urge travelers to carry emergency supplies, including food, water, and a flashlight, in case of road closures or delays. For real-time road conditions, visit **[UDOT Traffic](http://www.udottraffic.utah.gov
