Salt Lake City, UT – A lingering winter storm is set to clear out of Utah by Friday morning, making way for milder, spring-like temperatures just in time for the weekend. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Friday for the eastern benches of Salt Lake Valley and Utah Valley, where an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow could impact the morning commute.
According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will taper off early Friday, with cloudy conditions and a high near 40°F expected. Roads, especially on elevated terrain and highways, may remain slick through the morning hours. Drivers are urged to use caution, particularly on I-15 and mountain passes.
By Saturday, Salt Lake City will see mostly sunny skies with a high near 45°F. Winds will remain light, making for a pleasant start to the weekend. Sunday brings even warmer temperatures, reaching 54°F, under clear skies—just in time for Daylight Saving Time, when clocks will spring forward one hour at 2 a.m.
Looking ahead, temperatures will continue to climb into the upper 50s by Monday, with a chance of rain returning Tuesday. Spring-like conditions will dominate the week, signaling a shift away from winter’s grip.
