Salt Lake City, UT – Northern Utah residents can expect mild and dry weather through Wednesday, offering a brief reprieve before snow returns late in the week. The National Weather Service forecasts high temperatures climbing up to 50°F above seasonal norms in some areas, creating calm conditions ideal for travel and outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service, a high-pressure system will keep skies clear and temperatures mild, with highs near 44°F on Wednesday. However, valley inversions may lead to reduced air quality, especially in low-lying areas. Residents are advised to minimize outdoor activities if air quality worsens.

A storm system will arrive Thursday afternoon, bringing rain and snow to the area. Snowfall is expected in higher elevations, while Salt Lake City could see a mix of rain and snow Thursday night into Friday morning. Mountain travelers should prepare for hazardous road conditions and delays along key routes, including I-80 and US-89.

Friday’s forecast predicts a slight chance of morning snow, with partly sunny skies and temperatures near 41°F. The weekend will feature fluctuating conditions, including a chance of rain and snow Saturday, followed by milder temperatures nearing 47°F.

With winter storms approaching, officials encourage drivers to monitor forecasts and prepare vehicles for icy conditions. Check local advisories and stay informed for safe travel.
