Salt Lake City, Utah – A calm, pale dawn settles over the Wasatch Front this Monday, the kind of quiet air that hints at change. After a crisp weekend, the Utah weather pattern steadies for now — but models point to a subtle midweek shake-up that could briefly dampen the valley before skies clear again for the weekend.

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City reports that Monday will stay mostly sunny and mild, with highs near 55°F and light northwest winds. Temperatures rebound Tuesday under bright skies, climbing to around 63°F by afternoon. Those commuting along I-15 or through Parley’s Canyon should enjoy easy travel and light winds through midweek.

By Wednesday evening, however, conditions shift slightly. A weak disturbance moving in from the northwest will increase clouds and bring a 30% chance of light rain to the metro and nearby valleys. While totals should remain light — a tenth of an inch or less — it could make for slick roads and slower travel along I-80 after sunset.

The brief wet spell won’t linger. By Thursday, high pressure rebuilds, returning sunny and seasonably warm weather to northern Utah. Highs reach the mid-60s Thursday, climbing near 70°F by Friday — a welcome stretch for outdoor plans or early Halloween prep.

Looking ahead, long-range trends hint at a possible cooler trough arriving next week, but for now, Salt Lake City sits in that sweet late-fall balance — a taste of rain, followed by golden sunshine.
