Salt Lake City, UT – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across multiple regions of Utah, with heavy snow expected to impact travel through 11 p.m. Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will vary across the state. The Wasatch Plateau, Western Uinta Mountains, and areas south of I-80 may see up to 12 inches, especially near Provo Canyon. Heber City and Park City are forecasted to receive 2 to 6 inches of snow, with lighter amounts north of I-80.

The advisory, which began late Friday, urges caution for drivers as road conditions are expected to deteriorate. The Utah Department of Transportation recommends checking their traffic site for updates and slowing down when traveling.

This weather system could result in hazardous conditions in high-elevation areas like Mirror Lake Highway and Scofield. Lower snowfall totals are expected in the upper Cottonwoods, with accumulation near 5 inches.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates at weather.gov/saltlakecity for detailed forecasts and to avoid non-essential travel in affected areas.
