SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Northern Utah is seeing a classic October shift this week as scattered showers and a few thunderstorms roll through the region before calmer, cooler weather returns for the weekend. The unsettled pattern will dominate through Thursday, bringing waves of moisture to the Wasatch Front and mountain snow to higher elevations.
According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, the first round of showers arrived overnight with a 70% chance of rain continuing into early Tuesday. Skies may briefly clear in the afternoon, allowing highs to reach near 70°F before another round of rain and isolated thunderstorms redevelops late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
