Salt Lake City, UT – The Wasatch foothills glow under a calm November sunrise this morning, but change is already building on the horizon. Utah’s streak of sunny, crisp days will give way to increasing clouds and a few light rain chances before the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, today remains dry and mild, with highs near 66°F under clear skies. Light east-southeast breezes will turn southwest by afternoon. Wednesday, however, brings a noticeable shift as clouds thicken and temperatures reach the upper 60s ahead of a cold front. Showers are expected to develop late Wednesday into early Thursday — a 30–40% chance — mainly along the Wasatch Front and nearby valleys.

While accumulations look light, any rainfall could dampen morning commutes along I-15 and I-80 early Thursday. Behind the front, skies clear but cooler air filters in, keeping highs in the 50s and lows in the low 40s through Saturday.

Looking ahead, the weekend should turn mostly sunny again but cooler, with highs near 56°F. By next week, models hint at a deeper trough sweeping across the Great Basin — potentially the first sign of a stronger November cold snap before Thanksgiving week.

For now, enjoy the calm before Utah’s weather rollercoaster dips again — just in time for the season’s next shift.
