Utah’s Wasatch Front is turning slick as steady snow pushes into Salt Lake City this morning. Wet pavement is quickly coating over, and visibility is dropping along I-15 and I-80.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday. Snow totals between 2 and 4 inches are expected across the valley, with up to 6 inches possible along the benches.

The heaviest snow will fall through late morning, directly impacting the Wednesday commute. Roads may become snow-covered in bursts of moderate snowfall. Utah Department of Transportation crews are treating major routes, but conditions can change quickly.

Slow down and allow extra space between vehicles. Elevated ramps and neighborhood streets will turn slick first.

Temperatures hover near 39 degrees today, then fall into the low 30s tonight. That drop raises concern for flash freezing. Slush left on roads during the day can harden into black ice after sunset.

Snow tapers Wednesday evening, though a 40 percent chance of additional snow lingers into the night. Lows dip near 20 degrees, reinforcing icy patches early Thursday.

Thursday stays cold with highs near 37 and a slight chance of snow. Another round of light snow is possible Thursday night into Friday, with highs in the mid-30s.

By the weekend, skies begin to clear. Saturday turns mostly sunny with highs near 41. Sunday climbs toward the upper 40s with partial sunshine.

Looking ahead, the 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures across Utah. A gradual warming trend into early next week hints at early spring vibes returning after this midweek winter burst.

Five-Day Outlook for Salt Lake City, Utah:
Wednesday: Snow, high 39.
Thursday: Chance of snow, high 37.
Friday: Snow likely early, high 34.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, high 41.
