Salt Lake City, UT – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City has issued Freeze Warnings and Watches for parts of eastern Utah, with overnight temperatures expected to drop into the upper 20s beginning tonight, Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
According to the NWS, a Freeze Warning is in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. MDT Thursday for the Western Uinta Basin—including Roosevelt and Duchesne—and for Castle Country, which includes Price, Castle Dale, and Emery. A Freeze Watch follows from late Thursday night through Friday morning as colder air lingers in the region.
Forecasters expect temperatures as low as 29°F Thursday morning and as low as 26°F Friday morning, especially in higher elevations above 5,800 feet. Price may stay slightly warmer, near or just above freezing.
The NWS cautions residents that frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Homeowners are urged to cover or bring in sensitive plants, drain sprinkler systems, and insulate exposed pipes.
Cold overnight lows are expected to persist into the weekend before gradual warming returns early next week.
