Salt Lake City, Utah – A more active February weather pattern is expected to take hold across Utah through late week, bringing above-normal chances for rain and snow statewide. The shift raises the potential for travel impacts, particularly in mountain corridors and higher elevations, as storm systems become more frequent.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the 6–10 day outlook from February 10–14 favors above-normal precipitation across much of Utah. This pattern supports an increased likelihood of valley rain and accumulating mountain snow, while temperatures remain seasonable enough to maintain winter weather concerns in higher terrain.

Along the Wasatch Front, including Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Provo, rain chances are expected to increase, with brief rain-snow mixes possible during overnight and early morning hours. Farther north and east, mountain snow chances rise across the Wasatch, Uinta, and central Utah ranges, potentially impacting travel along I-80 through Parleys Canyon, I-15 near mountain passes, and U.S. Route 6.

Southern Utah, including Cedar City and areas near Bryce Canyon, may also see higher snow chances at elevation, while lower valleys experience periods of rain. Drivers are urged to remain alert for changing road conditions, especially during active storm windows.

This wetter pattern is expected to persist through late week, and additional winter weather advisories may be issued as individual systems approach.
