Salt Lake City, Utah – Travel across I-15, I-80, and US-89 in central and northern Utah may become hazardous Sunday as snow blankets the region from morning through evening, creating slick conditions in both valleys and mountains.

According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, a winter storm will bring light to moderate snowfall throughout the day, with heavier accumulations expected in higher elevations. Valley cities such as Ogden, Salt Lake City, and Provo could see a dusting to 1 inch, while east-facing benches and northern cities like Logan, Brigham City, and Evanston may receive up to 2 inches.

Mountain routes will be most impacted, with 4 to 8 inches forecast in areas like Park City, Heber City, and the Cottonwoods. UDOT is warning of traction restrictions and reduced visibility along I-80 through Parleys Canyon, US-40 near Heber, and SR-190 and SR-210 into Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons.

Drivers are urged to delay non-essential travel or pack emergency kits, as snow will steadily fall and refreeze in shaded and higher terrain by Sunday evening. More advisories could be issued if snow intensity increases or road conditions worsen.
