Salt Lake City, UT – Spring sunshine may be just around the corner, but Utah residents will first need to get through a damp and chilly Friday. Salt Lake City is expected to see a mix of rain and snow showers this afternoon before conditions clear for a warm and sunny weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, a 20% chance of showers begins this afternoon, with partly cloudy skies and highs near 53°F. The storm system may impact local travel, especially along I-15 through Salt Lake County during the afternoon and evening commute. While little to no snow accumulation is expected, slick roads and reduced visibility remain possible.

Friday night skies will clear, with lows around 31°F and winds calming across northern Utah. By Saturday, the region will welcome true spring weather. Sunny skies and highs in the mid-50s will stretch across the Wasatch Front, improving driving conditions and outdoor activity potential.

Sunday looks even better, with highs near 61°F and dry conditions expected. By Monday, temperatures are forecast to reach near 70°F with mostly sunny skies—a strong signal that spring warmth is taking hold across northern Utah.

Residents should stay alert Friday for sudden weather changes and check UDOT alerts for updated road conditions. Layer clothing and avoid higher elevation routes Friday afternoon where snow may briefly mix in.
