SALT LAKE CITY, UT – A spring storm will bring rain and snow to northern Utah starting Thursday, impacting travel and outdoor plans. The system is expected to arrive by midday Thursday, bringing rain before transitioning to snow Thursday night.
According to the National Weather Service, precipitation will begin as rain in the afternoon before mixing with snow overnight. Snow accumulation is expected to remain light, with less than an inch possible in the Salt Lake City area. However, higher elevations could see more significant snowfall, which may create hazardous driving conditions on mountain passes, including I-80 and Parleys Canyon.

• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high of 61°F. South wind 8-14 mph.
• Thursday: Rain begins by 3 p.m., with a high of 55°F. Rain and snow mix overnight, low around 31°F.
• Friday: A chance of snow in the morning, then partly sunny with a high of 42°F.
• Saturday: Snow showers possible, high near 43°F.
• Sunday: Light rain and snow possible, high around 52°F.
