Low clouds press against the Wasatch Front this morning, and damp pavement glistens under a gray sky. Temperatures hover near 43 degrees at Salt Lake City International, with light winds and steady overcast.

A few light showers are still possible early, mainly before sunrise. Skies gradually brighten through the day, with highs reaching 55 degrees. Roads along I-15 and I-80 may remain slick in spots during the morning commute, but improving conditions are expected by midday.

Tonight turns mostly clear and cooler, with lows dipping to 37 degrees. Friday brings a noticeable spring tease. Sunshine pushes highs near 60 degrees, and calm winds make it feel even milder across the valley.

Clouds increase again Friday night. Saturday stays mostly cloudy with highs around 61 degrees. By late Saturday night, rain chances return. Sunday carries a better opportunity for valley rain, with highs near 58. If temperatures dip after sunset, wet roads could briefly turn slick in colder pockets.

Early next week stays unsettled. Monday and Tuesday both feature chances for rain, with highs near the upper 50s. By Wednesday, partial sunshine returns and temperatures climb toward the low 60s.

Longer-range outlooks favor milder-than-average temperatures heading into early March. While mountain snow remains possible with passing systems, the valley pattern leans cool and wet rather than wintry.

Heading into the weekend? Plan around periods of rain, especially Sunday. Are you seeing wet roads in your neighborhood this morning?
