Salt Lake City, UT – A significant freeze is set to impact most of Utah by Wednesday morning, as temperatures drop to 32°F or below. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that this temperature drop could damage crops, gardens, and outdoor equipment if not properly prepared. Only lower Washington County and the Lake Powell area are expected to avoid the freeze.
According to the NWS, the freeze conditions will begin late Tuesday and intensify overnight. Residents are advised to cover or move vulnerable plants indoors, drain or insulate external pipes, and winterize RVs and sprinkler systems to avoid potential damage.
Officials classify this weather event as a “minor” risk, but still caution residents to take proactive steps. Even a light freeze could lead to property damage, especially to exposed plumbing and outdoor vegetation.
The freeze warning serves as a reminder to prepare for colder conditions as the region heads deeper into fall.
