According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, high pressure will continue to bring extreme heat to the region. On Saturday, temperatures are expected to soar, with afternoon highs reaching up to 105°F in some areas of Utah and 102°F in parts of southwest Wyoming. These elevated temperatures pose a considerable risk, particularly for vulnerable populations.
On Sunday, the heat will slightly subside, but temperatures will remain unseasonably warm. Utah can expect highs around 99°F, while southwest Wyoming will see temperatures in the mid-90s. Elevated overnight lows will add to the heat stress, making it crucial for residents to take precautions.
The extended forecast shows that the heat wave will persist into next week, with highs in the upper 90s to low 100s.
