According to the US National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, the warnings now encompass the Western Uinta Basin, San Rafael Swell, Color Country Mountains, Central Utah Mountains, Henry Mountains, and Grand Staircase. These areas are expected to experience west to northwesterly winds with gusts up to 35 mph, combined with relative humidity levels between 3-12%.
The forecast for Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening predicts critical fire weather conditions in the western Uinta Basin, San Rafael Swell, and Central Utah Mountains. The Henry Mountains and Grand Staircase are also expected to face similar conditions on Sunday afternoon and evening. Residents are advised to follow local fire restrictions and avoid any activities that could spark fires, such as campfires and fireworks.
The upcoming week’s forecast for Salt Lake City shows clear skies with rising temperatures. Saturday will see a high of 91°F. On Sunday, temperatures are expected to slightly decrease to 89°F, before rising again to 92°F on Monday. The heat will intensify mid-week with highs of 99°F on Tuesday and 102°F on Wednesday. Starting Thursday, the region will experience consecutive days of over 100°F temperatures, with highs of 104°F on Thursday, 103°F on Friday, and 103°F on Saturday.
