Provo, UT – The suspect in the September 10 shooting at Utah Valley University (UVU) that killed Charlie Kirk is now in custody, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Mike Smith confirmed the arrest during a press release Friday, noting that law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels coordinated closely throughout the investigation. Authorities said detectives pursued leads statewide until the suspect was located.
According to the sheriff’s office, public tips also contributed to the arrest. Officials did not release additional details about the suspect’s identity or current charges.
