Salt Lake City, UT – A mix of rain and snow is set to hit northern Utah through the weekend, with the heaviest precipitation expected Friday. Residents should prepare for wet roads, potential slick conditions, and colder temperatures as a storm system moves in.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is likely Thursday morning, turning into snow by Friday. Highs will hover around 50°F on Thursday but drop to 35°F by Saturday. Wind gusts up to 20 mph could make temperatures feel even colder. Drivers on I-15 and I-80 should watch for changing conditions and reduced visibility.

Friday’s storm carries a 100% chance of rain and snow, with up to a half-inch of accumulation in some areas. The system will taper off by Friday night, leaving behind partly sunny but chilly conditions for the weekend. Saturday will reach a high of 35°F, while Saturday night temperatures dip to 17°F.

Anyone traveling or commuting should check real-time updates and plan ahead. Snow accumulation is expected to be light, but wet roads could create hazardous conditions.
