According to Urbana Police, officers responded to the 1200 block of South Vine Street at approximately 1:55 a.m. after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. When officers made contact with two individuals inside, they were allegedly exposed to an unknown liquid or substance. Authorities said one officer lost consciousness at the scene and was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital for evaluation. Additional officers on scene were also assessed for possible exposure. All were treated and later released.
Police reported that Chane Butler, 51, was arrested on an initial charge of possession of a controlled substance. Brianna Holloway, 35, was arrested on initial charges of possession of a controlled substance and resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
