Urbana, IL – A 24-year-old man was shot Monday afternoon in Urbana and remains hospitalized in serious condition after officers discovered him inside a home with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the Urbana Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:35 p.m. to the 1300 block of Dublin Street following reports of a shooting. Investigators said the victim was shot outside before running into a nearby residence. No one else inside the home was injured.

Police said officers from the University of Illinois Police Department, the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police also assisted at the scene. Surveillance footage showed two unidentified males fleeing the area on foot, running south along Romine Street immediately after the gunfire.
