Albany, NY – Snow continues across northern and central New York this evening, with several Winter Weather Advisories remaining in effect until 1 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service offices in Albany, Binghamton, and Buffalo.
Forecasters report 4 to 8 inches of snow in parts of northern Herkimer County, while Lewis County’s Tug Hill Plateau could see an additional 3 to 5 inches. In Northern Oneida County, snowfall totals up to 2 inches are expected, with light rain mixing in at lower elevations.
Gusty winds up to 35 mph will lead to blowing and drifting snow, particularly in exposed and higher-terrain areas, making travel difficult at times. Roads may remain snow-covered and slick through the overnight hours.
Meanwhile, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Hamilton County beginning Tuesday morning, signaling another round of heavy snow for the Adirondacks.
Drivers are urged to slow down, use caution, and check local road conditions before heading out. Motorists can dial 511 for real-time travel updates across New York State.
The current Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect until 1 a.m. Monday across Lewis, Oneida, Herkimer, and Hamilton Counties.
