Albany, N.Y. – The Capital Region will see a brief spell of unsettled weather before a sunny stretch arrives just in time for the Labor Day holiday. Thursday will stay mostly sunny with highs near 78, but overnight clouds could bring spotty showers after 2 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, showers and a few afternoon thunderstorms are possible Friday with highs near 74. Rainfall will remain light, with most areas seeing less than a quarter-inch. Winds may gust from the south at 5 to 8 mph, which could impact afternoon commuters.
