Binghamton, NY – Snowfall continues through Friday night, with localized accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Colder temperatures and increased snow chances this weekend may bring travel disruptions and icy conditions to the area.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Binghamton, light lake-effect snow will taper off by early Saturday. Friday’s high will reach only 24 degrees, with lows plunging to 7 degrees Friday night. Roads, including Interstate 81 and local highways, could become slick. Drivers are urged to reduce speeds and use caution.
Saturday will bring partly cloudy skies and slightly warmer highs near 25 degrees. By Sunday night, the next snow system moves in, increasing the chance of snow showers to 20%. Monday shows the highest likelihood of measurable snow, with temperatures climbing to 33 degrees before dropping to 24 degrees overnight.
Looking ahead, another round of snow showers is forecast for Tuesday into Wednesday, with daytime highs near 34 degrees. While no major snowstorm is expected, cumulative snow could create hazardous driving conditions.
