Upstate New York Weather: Rain Moves In Thursday, Showers Linger Through Weekend

Binghamton, NY – After a brief stretch of dry weather, rain returns to Central New York on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton.

Wednesday will feature partly to mostly sunny skies, with highs in the mid-50s, offering one final dry day before conditions turn wet. By Thursday morning, rain will move in across the region, spreading north and east through the day. Highs will remain in the 50s, with steady rainfall expected into the evening.

Friday will bring lingering rain showers, especially across Central New York, along with gusty winds up to 35 mph. Cooler air will follow, with highs falling to the 40s and lower 50s through the weekend.

Showers may persist Saturday and Sunday, though conditions are not expected to be severe. Temperatures will stay below seasonal averages, with overnight lows dipping into the upper 30s.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for wet travel conditions Thursday and Friday, particularly along Interstate 81 and I-88.
