BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Residents in the Southern Tier will wake to another day of clear skies and warm temperatures Sunday, with highs near 89°F and only a light breeze to stir the air. The calm stretch will make for an ideal day to enjoy local trails, parks, or late-summer community events.

According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, the sunny pattern will hold into Monday with highs pushing into the low 90s. The peak of the heat arrives Tuesday, when temperatures could reach 93°F under partly cloudy skies. While humidity will remain moderate, the combination of heat and sun could make midday outdoor activities uncomfortable without shade or hydration.

The heat eases slightly Wednesday as clouds build and a 40% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms moves in. Outdoor plans for the midweek should be flexible, especially for events scheduled after 2 p.m. Cooler, unsettled weather is likely to linger into Thursday.

Residents should take advantage of the dry weekend window before temperatures and storm chances increase next week.
