Albany, New York – Light snow and gusty winds are creating hazardous travel conditions across parts of eastern New York and southern Vermont Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. Saturday for northern Warren and northern Fulton counties in New York, including Bolton Landing, Warrensburg, North Creek, Johnsburg, and Hague.
Forecasters expect an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow, with wind gusts up to 45 mph that could cause blowing snow and reduced visibility at times.
Another Winter Weather Advisory is in place for Bennington and western Windham counties in Vermont, including Bennington, Stratton, Londonderry, and Stamford.
In those areas, higher elevations above 1,500 feet could see an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow before the system begins to weaken.
Meteorologists say the steady snowfall will gradually transition to scattered snow showers before ending later this afternoon.
Officials are urging drivers to slow down and use caution, as even light snowfall can quickly create slick and snow-covered roads, especially in mountainous terrain.
